What a Sweetheart Headband
This is a Beginner to Intermediate level pattern written in US Crochet terms.

Materials Needed:
4.5 mm Crochet hook                                  Tapestry Needle
Scissors                                                        Tape Measure
Button                                                         Thread
Worsted Weight Yarn in 2 Colors – I used Bernat Happy Holidays in Twinkly White and Hobby Lobby’s I Love This Yarn in Pink Neon
Stitch Legend:
Ch – Chain                                                 SC – Single Crochet
DC – Double Crochet                                  Sl St – Slip Stitch
BLO – Back Loops Only                             FO – Fasten Off
St – Stitch                                                    Sts – Stitches
Mgc Rng – Magic Ring                                HDC – Half Double Crochet
* – Repeat instructions from *
[ ] – Stitches worked into the same stitch or space

Grab your hook and let’s begin!

NOTE: You will need enough length to overlap for your button closure once the button is attached. Depending on the size of your button this will vary. Work your piece until the ends meet comfortably around your head and then complete piece for the button hole.

If you want a wider headband make your beginning Ch longer, but make sure you have an odd number of Sts so that the button hole is centered at the end.

Gauge: 4 Sts & 4 Rows in 1” in headband.

Row 1: With White yarn, Ch 8, SC in 2nd Ch from hook and in each Ch across (7 SC)
Row 2: Ch 1 and turn, working in the BLO, SC in each St across (7 SC)

BUTTON HOLE

Row 1: Continuing with White Yarn, Ch 1 and turn, working in both loops of the Stitches, SC in each St across (7 SC)
Row 2: Ch 1 and turn, SC in each St across (7 SC)
