Little Hearts Applique

This is an intermediate level pattern written in US Crochet Terms.

Materials needed:

Crochet Hook

Yarn or Thread

Tapestry Needle

Scissors

Stitch Legend:

Ch – Chain

DC – Double Crochet

SC – Single Crochet

Sl St – Slip Stitch

St – Stitch

Sts – Stitches

* – Repeat instructions between *’s

Row 1: Ch 5, SC into the 2^nd Ch from the hook & into each St (4 SC)

Rows 2 – 5: Ch 1 & turn, 1 SC into each St across (4 SC)

Round 6: Switch from working in a row to working in a round

Working along the side of the heart, Ch 1, 5 DC into the 3^rd row along side, Sl St into point of square where your 1^st St was, Ch 2, working along next side, Skip one St, 5 DC into the next St, Skip next St, Sl St into next point of corner, Sl St evenly down the side of the heart into each of the next 4 Sts, Ch 1 & Fasten off.
